SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama Phantom Lawyer reached a historic milestone with Episode 6. According to Nielsen Korea, the episode recorded 10.0% nationwide and 10.6% in the Seoul metropolitan area, claiming the No. 1 spot across all time slots. This marks the third consecutive week the drama has broken its own ratings record.

The National Forensic Service determined that the fingerprints on the gloves found near Jeon Sang-ho’s body were left during the discovery process, not during the crime. I-rang was reclassified as a witness and set free.
Despite his mother Park Kyung-hwa’s (Kim Mi-kyung) desperate plea to stop, I-rang declared: “Listening to the stories of wronged souls is more precious than money or fame.” He firmly committed to continuing as a ghost-specialized lawyer.
Na-hyeon Apologizes and Teams Up with I-rang
In a pivotal character shift, Han Na-hyeon (Esom) approached I-rang and said, “I’m sorry for misunderstanding you.” She doesn’t fully believe in ghosts, but she recognized I-rang as a “key player” for solving the case and chose to use his abilities strategically.
Na-hyeon then met Jeon Sang-ho (Yoon Na-mu) through I-rang. She asked Sang-ho about the night of the murder, and he revealed that after fighting with his wife, she went upstairs and fell into a deep sleep. Na-hyeon built a compelling case against Gu Hyo-jung (Eom Jun-gi), the senior researcher who had presented himself as a loyal friend to the victim’s wife Kim Su-jeong (Jung Ga-hee). Her evidence was methodical.

In one of the episode’s most emotional scenes, I-rang lent his body to Sang-ho for a prison visit with Su-jeong. When Sang-ho spoke a secret love code that only the couple shared, Su-jeong — who had been walking away in disbelief — collapsed in tears.
She finally revealed the real reason behind her false confession: it wasn’t because her father was the killer. Her mother was battling a rare disease, and her father was the only one who could stay by her side. Su-jeong took the fall to protect her family.
I-rang’s Genius Trap — The Shaman Lawyer Returns
To catch Hyo-jung, I-rang devised an elaborate sting operation at the animal research facility. He used Yoon Bong-su (Jeon Suk-ho) as a body double for Sang-ho, equipped with AI voice-changing technology to transform the facility into a haunted ghost scene.
Under a pin spotlight, I-rang appeared in full shaman attire and asked with chilling calm: “Do you still think I’m just a lawyer?” Terrified, Hyo-jung confessed everything — a murder driven by inferiority and jealousy.
Sang-ho’s rage then took over I-rang’s body. “I treated you like a brother. How could you do this to me?” he screamed through I-rang, delivering an emotionally devastating performance. At the crisis point, Na-hyeon stepped in and unlocked the facility cages, releasing guard dogs that pinned Hyo-jung down — a satisfying moment of justice that had viewers cheering.
A Final Gift and a Peaceful Farewell
After the case was resolved, Sang-ho used I-rang’s body one last time to complete the cure for the rare disease. Su-jeong’s mother began to recover. Having left his final gift to his family, Sang-ho departed peacefully.
I-rang, deeply moved, realized the importance of the people around him and grew as both a person and a lawyer.
Ending — A New Ghost Approaches
But the peace didn’t last. On the rooftop of Okcheon Building, moments after seeing Sang-ho off, a mysterious wave of sadness engulfed I-rang — signaling the arrival of yet another restless spirit.

“Long live I-rang’s independence!” I-rang is thrilled at the prospect of taking on a human client for the first time.
